'the water of life'
For those who wish to devote some quality time to discovering all about Scotland's premier beverage and export - The Water of Life: 'Uisge Betha' (Whisky!)
Day 1: Leaving Edinburgh we take in historic Stirling before our first distillery, Tullibadine, for a tour and taste of a lowland malt. Stopping in Pitlochry for lunch and visit to Scotland's smallest and most picturesque distillery. and then on to Glenlivet for our Speyside dram. We spend the night in the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.
Day 2: We head West to the Isle of Skye to sample the famous, Talisker, our first Highland malt, and the only one single malt distilled upon the island, before exploring the island throghly before settling in for the night in a local guesthouse.
Day 3: Leaving Skye we head South to Oban via Fort William and Glencoe to reach the ferry to Islay.
Day 4: With more whisky distilleries than any other region you have a fantastic selection of some of most famous and best loved whiskies in the world to choose from. We can tour just a couple, or go for a marathon day packing in as many as possible such as, Ardbeg, Lagavulen, Laphroig, Caol Ila, Port Charlotte, Bruichladdich, Kilchoman and Bowmore- thus completing our tasting tour of the four major regions. Tonight, we test what you have learned and enjoyed with a blindfolded tasting of whiskies from all the region, with a few surprises thrown in too.
